THE MILFOIL VIGILANTE PROGRAM

(Click on our friend here for the report form)

The Black Oak Lake Vigilante Program assigns specific sections of the lake to volunteers, (VIGILANTES), whose responsibility is to inspect their assigned section on a minimum monthly basis from May through September and maintain records of their inspections for use in a master data base. Inspections are made from a boat in the susceptible area (4 to 14 ft. depth) and any suspicious findings are reported to Bill Hall, Ed Hook, Bob Pierce or Joe Beers for follow up. Finding and identifying invasive species early in their development is critical in controlling their growth and maintaining the quality of Black Oak for the future.  If you are interested in becoming a vigilante contact Joe Beers for more information and a section assignment.
