Black Oak Lake Announcements!!

Vilas County is busily naming new roads, renaming old ones, and coming up with many new fire numbers for the entire county. This is intended to correct a hodgepodge of duplications and inconsistencies that was created by decades of little foresight in addressing during the building boom. Anyway, any private road or driveway having more than three “habitable structures” on it must now have a name. Already posted are “Black Oak Pointe Rd” serving the south part of Barber’s Bay and “Sandbar Pt. Lane”, formerly the Annin/Lang driveway. Many of us have more than one such structure on our properties and each will now have a fire number. Already posted are additional numbers on the Beedie and Meyer properties. Any predominately North/South road will get all new fire numbers while East/West roads will get to keep theirs. This is a work in progress designed mainly for emergency vehicles.
